Summer Schools Hack Days 2020

Dates: 22-23 July 2020, 9:00 to 17:00 approximately
Venue: University of Birmingham

What are the Summer Schools Hack Days?
The Summer Schools Hack Days, 22-23 July, will bring current NHS digital leaders, patients, clinicians, developers and NHS technology teams together with digital health innovators and disruptors to test and prove new ideas, develop working prototypes and create solutions to some of the NHS’ most pressing issues.

The Hack Days will start with timed two minute ‘pitches’ of project ideas and problems that need solving. After the pitches, participants self-organise themselves organically into project teams and work on building real working solutions to these problems, using their design skills, clinical insights, patient experiences, development skills, and best technology. Open source solutions are encouraged but not mandatory.

Projects developed at the Summer Schools Hack Days will be presented back on day one of the Summer Schools programme, 23 July, and delegates will have a chance to meet the teams with a community vote on the best project.

Who should attend?
Summer Schools Hack Days is open to CCIOs, CIOs, CNIOs, AHPs, patients, clinicians and developers and anyone with an interest in healthcare technology, and in how it can support integration across the health and care system.

We strongly encourage CCIOs and CIOs to bring their development teams along to help to disrupt and create the future of digital health.

Summer Schools Hack Days is the Summer Schools fringe event, organised by Digital Health and hacktivist-in-chief Dr Marcus Baw. Marcus will again be managing the event and providing support and encouragement to teams.

What will you get out of taking part?
