Somerset Cancer Register is a software application developed by the NHS, designed to collect relevant data throughout the patient’s cancer journey. The data collection, in addition to supporting patient care, supports the National Clinical Audits, Surgeon Level Reporting, Cancer Outcome and Services Dataset, and the Cancer Waiting Times. A team of 24 staff (Analysts, Testers, Developers, Trainers & Customer Support) who have developed SCR with clinicians, are based in Taunton, Somerset. The application is used by more than 105 organisations across England and continues to grow.
Development of the product is driven by NHS staff at all levels across the country and supported, through governance groups, by the National Cancer Registration & Analysis Service.
